March 2024 Surf Camp

The Under Construction Surf Club Program Introduces:

The March Surf Camp

This program is designed for the surfer who is looking to catch more waves, understand the lineup better and learn surfing technique.

It will run 4 weeks. Each session will run 2 hours a day on these Saturdays:

Saturday March 9th

Saturday March 16th

Saturday March 23rd

Saturday March 30th

When:

• Saturdays: March 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th.
• Times: 7:00 am - 9:00 am.

Where:

• Locations are subject to change based on conditions. Location window is from 1st Point Malibu to Torrance Beach. A text through our "What's App" channel will be sent to notify you on where to go, parking details, etc.

What You'll Experience:

Ways to Increase Your Wave Count

• Learn how to read the lineup and how to create a plan for your sessions.
• Learn to use tools such as Surfline to take information like swell height, swell period, swell degree to map out your sessions.
• Hands-on application in real surfing conditions. Ie: Learn how to surf a "standard beach break" where most of us surf every day.

Technique

• Detailed information per person to increase better technique of paddling, bottom turns, top turns, carves, airs, etc.
• Personalized feedback on turning and maneuvering techniques.
• Your surfing will be filmed.
• Your footage will be sent to you the week following each session.

Surfboard Design & Further Technique

• Explore various board types and materials.
• Q&A on board design.
• Surfboard Volume discussion and what does volume mean?
• Fins and what you should be riding based on your level.

Recap and Personalized Breakdown

• Review and consolidate all the information.
• Personalized feedback with film.
• Narrowing the gap from learning to application.
• You will be working with Matt and an instructor (ie: Hunter Jones) during the 4 weeks.

Community

• A big goal for this club and program is to create comradery, accountability and community between the individuals.
• You will be included into our "What's App group chat."
• 10% off a new custom surfboard included.
• UCSC Gift Bag included.

Who:

• Surfers in the adult age range (18+).
• Surfers who can confidently paddle out and catch waves themselves.
• Surfers that are looking to increase their ability in high performance surfing. Ie: Airs, blowtails, etc.
• Limited spaces available - 10 people per session.

Investment:

• Course Fee: $750
• Purchasing of 4 session solidifies you in the March Surf Camp. 

Options:

• First come, first serve for the sessions: 7:00 am - 9:00 am.
• 10 spots available each session ONLY.
• A second session from 9:30 am to 11:30 am will be available as well.
